Resources

Our staff are NH residents whom are not only involved in their own communities but with state and local organizations whose services are focused on seniors.  We are able to provide a variety of local resources for those who need help outside of our placement services.

Financial Resources

Veterans’ Aid and Attendance Program- A Program for wartime Veterans and their spouses. The Aid and Attendance ( A&A) Pension provides financial assistance for those who require the regular assistance from health care workers with activities of daily living (ADLs). The A&A Pension Program can provide up to $1,703 per month to a veteran, $1,094 per month to a surviving spouse, or $2,019 per month to a couple.

New Hampshire Medicaid Program- Choices For Independence (CFI) is the specific medicaid program that pays for assisted living services. Financial eligibility limits are a gross monthly income of $2022.00 or below and no more than $2500.00 worth of assets. Also subject to medical eligibility. Applications currently take an average of 3 months to be reviewed by the state.

Massachusetts Medicaid Program- Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC) is the specific medicaid program that pays for assisted living services. Financial eligibility limits are a gross monthly income of $1148.00 or below and no more than $2000 worth in assets. Also subject to medical eligibility.

Long Term Care Insurance- Long-Term care insurance has expanded from simple nursing home coverage to covering care in assisted living facilities and in an individual’s own home.

Reverse Mortgages- For couples who are trying to finance assisted living care for one spouse while the other remains at home; a reverse mortgage can be a viable option. Available to homeowners who are 62 or older, a reverse mortgage lets you convert some of the equity in your home into cash.

Elder Care Attorneys- Elder law encompasses all aspects of planning for aging, illness, and incapacity. Powers of Attorney, Wills, Fiduciary Representation, Asset Protection and Guardianship are a few examples of legal issues that our clients may require assistance with.

Real Estate Agents -If you need to finance Assisted Living with the proceeds of a home, a good Real Estate Agent is essential. In addition to having the ability to provide an accurate market analysis (required by the Assisted Living Community), the agents we work with have been responsive to preparing homes for a quicker sale. In addition to the asking price, the agent’s ability to stage a property will be an important factor in how desirable the home is.
